Angela Merkel: She Has A Dream….
Posted by keeptalkinggreece in Economy
Powerful world bankers knelt and paid their respect to the new souvereign of Europe. They bowed to what German Chancellor Angela Merkel called “last word”: a 50% Haircut of Greek bonds. Angela Merkel may remind us of the German version of Margaret Thatcher”, but deep in her heart she is still the pastor’s daughter who grew in former DDR. Yeap. It must have been difficult for a religious person to survive in an atheist socialist state. On Wednesday, Angela Merkel used all her possible tricks to enforce her will. She went so far to threaten even of a war in Europe, should the euro fail.
“Nobody should take for granted another 50 years of peace and prosperity in Europe. They are not for granted. That’s why I say: If the euro fails, Europe fails,” Merkel told members of the German Parliament on Wednesday, ahead of the EU Summit on Greek debt. And she added:
“We have a historical obligation: To protect by all means Europe’s unification process begun by our forefathers after centuries of hatred and blood spill. None of us can foresee what the consequences would be if we were to fail said,
While she praised Portugal and Spain, she warned Greece “Debt restructuring alone does not solve the problem. Painful structural reforms have to be made, otherwise even after debt restructuring we’re back to where we are today.” And she proposed the unprecedented: That Greece would have to be “assisted” for quite some time. “It’s not enough that the troika comes and goes every three months. It would be desirable to have a permanent supervision in Greece,” she said, adding that this issue would be brought up at the summit.
In return for what seems to be an unprecedented sovereignty loss in an old EU member state, Merkel promised German investments and mentioned a meeting of local representatives from Germany and Greece in the coming weeks. In her almighty kindness, the new iron lady of Europe didn’t forget to devote a sentence to Greek folks:
“People in Greece have to stomach a lot of sacrifices. They deserve our respect and also a sustainable growth perspective in the eurozone.”
Deeply touch the Greeks have now started to learn the German National Anthem….

Hi my Friend,
powerful Bankers would never fell on their knees for Merkel, never ever. They maybe played a kind of Greek Drama to us, nothing else. It seems, they bowed their Heads, but they dictated their points to the Politicians. The Haircut was negtiated by the powerfull International Banking Lobby Asociation.
Merkels Rethoric for a War, should the Euro fail, is a bitter Lesson, we Germans learnt from our History. Believe me, my Friend, Germans are haunted by their History, a War is the least we want, deep from our Heart. were not kidding about this (ok, we have some Dickheads, like any others, too). I never thought, that i, at one point, will ever defend Merkel, but you are wrong.
And, believe me, we dont want to command the brave People of Greece, we want to visit your beautiful Country, enjoy your mystic Beaches and we want to be FRIENDS!!!! (And YOU dont have to learn our Anthem).
Dont let ourselves get divided, we share one Destiny.
Greetings
Alex
BTW: It looks, I have to pay for the Ouzo, what will become reality in the, hopefully near, Future.
when I think bankers wanted a 40% haircut…. I know how the war ghost haunts Germans, but rhetoric ‘blackmailing” with a war? i became very allergic to blackmails in the last two years as our government uses this trick every once in a while.
I know part of the Anthem – first 2 words & music-, due to my staying in Germany lol
No, we don’t get divided among ourselves, it is the huge gap between politicians (Germans, Greeks etc) and the folks in Europe that bugs me.
BTW: with 50%, YES, you paid the Ouzo as agreed before
Merkel will not survive this nonsense she has arranged for Europe. It is true that Europe cannot go back, however it cannot continue with the status quo and a entity so paralysed by fear of the future can only arrive at a stagnant state of repetitive cycles that will sooner rather than later bancrupt them all.
very true! And the EU reforms that they are planning will thurn the whole project into a prison for the people.
Margaret Thatcher / Angela Merkel.
The only similarity between these two is what they have between their legs and it stops there.
HAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA.. very true.. And thanks for the laugh..
