Greek prime minister Lucas Papademos suddenly left Athens for Brussels on Sunday afternoon, ahead tomorrow’s crucial meeting of the Eurogroup. Ethnos.gr reported that Papademos would hold contacts with ‘leading institutional factors’ of the EU. However it looks as if Papademos would have his meetings on Monday morning. According to reports, there are still some critical issues to be finalize concerning the new loan agreement, therefore it was necessary for Papademos to head for Brussels.
The finance ministers of the eurozone are expected to give the green light for a second bailout to Greece, a rescue package of some €130 billion.
Papademos might attend the Eurogroup meeting. Christine Lagerde (IMF) and Charles Dallara (IIF) will also be in Brussels in a side room to be consultated if needed. (ANT1 TV)
Endgame…
Sorry KTG, he’s gone to Brussels to be told to declare bankruptcy and save Merkel’s face. All we can do is wish you and Ελλάδα all the best for the future.
