This is something that even his closed aides didn’t know. Lucas Papademos does not receive any salary for serving Greeks as their prime minister. According to daily TA NEA, Papademos made this revelation when a relevant question came by a German journalist. Unfortunately the Greek daily does not give any further information on the issue.
The prime minister of Greece receives 110,000 euro per year.
In February, the President of Greece, Karolos Papoulias waived his salary to show solidarity with the Greek people.
Who next???
This should be applauded! But let us not forget all the other pensions that they are getting for the other positions they have held especially Papademos from the eu while ours are cut. 🙁
you don’t want to compare your grandpa with Papademos, do you ?
No I wouldn’t. Papou worked hard and actually got his has dirty and didn’t hurt anyone in the process something to be proud of don’t you think? 🙂
Don’t cry for him, I’m sure he is still on goldman sachs payroll.
hey, can you prove it?
Of course I can’t prove it with documents, but the way he is going to push the banking cartels solution to the problem at hand will prove he is still taking their side. Your country will be worse off if they keep making consessions to them. Your people will own nothing and be in debt forever.
if you can’t, I’ll have to delete your claims and false accusations. You think a non-banker but elected PM would have done something different? It’s not him who makes the rules but Greece’s lenders. They decide and Greek MPs vote for the austerity bills, loan agreements, whatever measures.
Delete away, but you will eventually see the agenda the bankers have in store for your country. Papdemous has deep roots with goldman sachs and the central banks of the eu. Not accepting a salary is good press, but rather meaningless. An elected official is at least someone of your choosing, an appointed one is someone elses. In the US we are stuck with some of goldman sachs retreads, they have caused alot of havoc, and they aren’t done yet.
