Greek Air Force General Stab issued a statement on Monday, in an effort to respond to many e-mails and calm down requests by worried citizens wanting to clarify whether the “chem-trails” they see in the sky target to “spray people and influence their conscience.” As expected the Greek Air Force dismisses such claims that have mutated into a worldwide “legend” in the last years.
The statement of Hellenic Air Force explains scientifically the so-called “chemtrails” and writes:
Condensation Trails (Contrails):
“The white traces that have been observed and potentially create concern, consist of water in form of droplets or tiny ice crystals due to condensation of water vapor contained in the aircraft engine exhaust.
The condensation of exhaust is a natural phenomenon due to low air temperature at high altitudes where aircraft is flying. The same phenomenon can be observed in car fumes during very cold days.
The time at which traces of condensation are visible varies depending on temperature and humidity at flight altitude.”
“The flights of all aircraft is under observation and control and not other flights for perform other tasks are allowed” the statement concluded.
To tell you the truth I was very much surprised last Saturday, while there was a heated debate on the May 6th elections, when one of the participants at a friend’s house brought some photocopies of articles and the ‘chemtrails’ suddenly topped the agenda!
BTW: I must give some kudos to Greek Air Force! I wouldn’t think they would address such an “avant-garde” issue 🙂

But it will be in fain. “Patrick Minnis, an atmospheric scientist with NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, is quoted in USA Today as saying that logic is not exactly a real selling point for most chemtrail proponents: “If you try to pin these people down and refute things, it’s, ‘Well, you’re just part of the conspiracy’,” he said.”
