Greek Cosnumers’ General Secretariat has ordered the withdrawal of wash-balls from the market because they were radioactive. However there has been no reason of concern for the consumers. According to a statement issued on Wednesday evening, the warning refers to imported wash-balls “PRIMATO”.
the Greek importer was asked to withdraw all products from the market and inform all consumers who have purchased these wash-balls to return them to the company.
The warning comes after a written notification by the Greek Atomic Energy Commission (EEAE). In a statement the Atomic Energy authority said that “from actual measurements and experience there is no reason for concern for consumers. However, considering the results of the measurements and the fact that the product is not a basic good, the EEAE wants to avoid any unnecessary radiological burden on the people or the environment and suggests no further import of this product and its disposal on the market.” (zougla.gr & others)
