Are you ready? The countdown started for the submission of income tax declaration for earnings during 2012. Or even no earnings. But it’s austerity- and Troika-times. “Greeks will be able to begin filling their income tax returns online later this week,” the finance ministry said on Monday, apparently unaware that also expats get taxed here.
Crucial technical changes have been completed and it looks as if the big tax declaration attack will start on upcoming Friday.
For the first time any being with two legs over 18 years old will be obliged to submit a tax declaration even if he/she has had no income during 2012.
For a example a jobless who happened to had some savings on the bank will have to declare any interest earned last year. And this although interest is taxed directly at the source.
