There are times when I have the strong feeling that Greece’s lenders do troll Greeks. Take an example an European Commissioner for economic and financial affairs, Pierre Moscovisi, who is in Athens today. Speaking at the special joint committee in the Parliament Moscovici said that he is
“an ardent fan and supporter of Greece”
while he expressed his admiration for the “efforts of the Greek people,” saying
“I am impressed from their resilience, their will and dignity.”
Moscovici also pointed out that he opposed the Grexit, he argued that Greece’s position was and is in the heart of Europe, and spoke of a “difficult signed agreement.”
In other news, he also used the same old lenders’ language saying, he “came in peace…” ops! sorry! this quotation is from my favorite Mars Attack.
Pierre Moscovici said that his visit was a “message of trust”, he noted that Athens had made significant progress in reforming its economy, and that the possibility of leaving the eurozone currency was no longer on the table.
Greece needs to stick to reforms to regain credibility and earn further debt relief, EU Economic Commissioner Pierre Moscovici said during a visit to Athens on Monday.
Moscovici said his visit was “a message of trust”, noting that Athens had made significant progress in reforming its economy, and that the possibility of leaving the eurozone currency was no longer on the table.
“It is time for normality, it is time for stability, it is time for implementation and it is time for investment,” Moscovici said after meeting Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and repeated the well-known mantra:
“Greece needs to stick to reforms”
PS We, Greeks, are impressed too from our resilience to come along with zero euro, our strong will to defy death by starvation and to go around in the rugs of an uncertain future but with dignity.
Thumbnail picture has nothing to do with the topic.
Disgusting little man. He should be clapped in jail.
Euphemism os his middle name. Hypocrit his Family name. Time will came when austerity masterminds have to swallow all the medicine they now are pleased to apply to others.
Wonderful guy, isn’t he? A French socialist who’s the “tough-guy enforcer” of the EC. Is he happy to impose on Greece what he’d never accept for France only to keep Schäuble off France’s back?
