Metro station <Monastiraki> in downtown Athens will be closed to public as of 10:30 am Saturday, March 11th 2o17 due to demonstration. The metro will pass through the station, however it will not halt, the public will not be able neither to get on or off. Greek police took the decision for preventive purposes.
Several leftist organizations, civic movements and residents’ committees have called for a demonstration to start at 12 o’clock noon at Monastiraki. They want free public transport access to all, no electronic ticket, no ticket inspectors, no privatization.
The metro station will open again to public once the police will consider the demonstration is over.
