UPDATE Strike: No Trains, Proastiakos, and Metro to/from Athens Airport May 30-June 1/2017

TRAINOSE decided to cancel all Train and Proastiakos (suburban trains) operation due to work stoppages and a 24-hour strike announced the staff of the Greek Railway company. No trains will be running May 30 – June 1 2017. Consequently, there will be no Metro from and to Athens Airport Eleftherios Venizelos as Metro Line 3 will operate until <Doukissis Plakentias> station.

Because of the repetitive work stoppages combined with a strike, the Trainose management cancels all operations “in order to protect passengers from inconvenience, discomfort and confusion,” the Greek Railway company said in a statement.

The decision affects the train and proastiakos traffic.

Trains and Proastiakos staff union PEPE had announced several work stoppages for May 30-31 and one 24-hour strike on June 1 2017.
