Five injured when riot police goes against house auctions protesters

Four protesters and one photo-reporter were injured when police used violence against members of People’s Unity Party (LAE) and other organizations protesting house auctions.

Riot Police had taken place outside the notary office in downtown Athens as early as Wednesday morning.

When protesters gathered they attempted to enter the notary office and were repelled by police.

Law enforcement batons fell on protesters’ the backs and legs and shoulders, they responded to police violence with stones and water bottles.

Police detained four people and when a protester asked the reason for the detentions, he was detained too.

At least five people have been injured, one of whom is a photo-reporter.

Protesters said it was people’s homes that were going to be auctioned.
