Dozens of red, white and blue stars are decorating Greece’s second largest city in the North Thessaloniki since the weekend. The stars in the colors of the stars of the flag of the United States that it the honored country in this year International Fair of Thessaloniki.
“Stars related to the colors of the USA, the honoured country of the 83rd Thessaloniki International Fair, have been decorated on all the main streets and the nearby streets of the International Fair, ahead of the beginning of the Exhibition,” HELEXPO’s managing director, Kyriakos Pozrikidis, said to the Athens news agency amna.
“From now on, the stars that refer to the honoured country will decorate the city, just as we did last year with the lanterns for the honored country that was China,” Pozrikidis underlined.
“While the stars are related to the US, they also promote our city, Thessaloniki, as a ‘big star'”, he commented.
52 US big companies are expected at the International Fair. They are mostly from the technology sector and will present their latest achievements, notes local seleo.gr.
The International Fair of Thessaloniki opens its gates on September 8th and will last until September 16th 2018.
