No matter how the economic crisis is plaguing us, I think that we will never lose our sense of humor. No matter how grim, twisted or illogical a legislation can be, there will always somebody out there inspired by this surreal world we live in.
Minister of Public Order & Citizen, Nikos Dendias, decided to ban protesters groups with less than 200 demonstrators from the streets of the Greek capital, Athens. They will have to carry out their protest on the sidewalks in order to avoid causing traffic disturbances and prohibit tourists from moving around in an environment where they have no clue what’s going on.
The Karma columnist at daily Eleftherotypia was thrilled to see a new profession arising in a country where unemployment has reached 27%
“With Dendias’ decision to ban demonstrations with less than 200 people… a new profession is born: …
Hire the 201st protester, the 202nd, and so on…
For 300+-groups (as needed for election gatherings of political parties) special price arrangements can be made, of course!
Yes, some skeptics will doubt that Dendias took this decision to combat unemployment…”
