The six MPs of Golden Dawn arrested over the weekend are being held at the 12th floor of Greek Police headquarters (GADA) in downtown Athens. With exception of MP Christos Pappas, the other five have already spent two nights in cells of the Anti-Terror department. Leader Nikos Michaloliakos is being held in a cell apparently alone.
“On the first night, Michaloliakos refused to eat the GADA menu: spinach-rice (spanakoryzo) or mixed vegetables dish (briam), salad, olives, a dessert,” daily Espresso reports.
Michaloliakos might have wanted to have a dinner made of the groceries his daughter had brought him from the supermarket. But police was strict: “You cannot give the groceries here, you must do it when he is back in police HQ,” a supreme court police man reportedly told daughter Ourania and a friend, a GD MP who had brought the groceries: “Give me your data and you will see… ” the MP reportedly threatened the police man, while the Golden-Dawn daughter apparently said “If I gather here 1,000 of our people and tear down the rails, you will understand to whom you say NO.”
However, the anti-terror police was more relaxed when Michaloliakos exited the Evelpidon Court to be transferred to police headquarters. For some unexplained security reason, daughter Ourania was allowed to walk arm-in-arm with her father.

A little earlier, while Michaloliakos was taken from police headquarters to court, Ourania was also able to kiss daddy with tears in her eyes.

While the arrest of three Golden Dawn MPs (leader Michaloliakos, Kasidiaris and Lagos) occurred with the cameras off, and the other three (Panagiotaros, Michos and Pappas) were surrender to police, the ‘tough guys’ turned their transfer from police headquarters to court and back into a show with swears, spitting and slogans.

Spittings seems to be a common habit among Golden Dawn MPs. Michaliolakos’s wife, Eleni Zaroulia, also an MP, not only threw a coffee cup at a journalist , she also hurled a brave gob.

Two more highlights of the GD arrests are the fact that Kasidiaris allegedly posted twice on social media directly from the anti-terror department of police where mobile phones are officially banned.
Translation: “Our crime is we said the turht, the people followed us, we asserted a free Greece. The consiracy against the Popular League will fail. The Truth will prevail (29.09.2013 anti-terror jail)
However some wonder whether Kasidiaris indeed posted on his Facebook page from the police HQ or some co-administrator.
Another interesting “event” is Pappas managed to open the police car door and chant his slogans.

While the arrested Golden Dawn MPs rest in police headquarters, authorities are zealous to search homes and offices, seize illegal firearms and Hitler’s portraits, evidence to prove the criminal character of the organization, shed light into the structures and the who-is-who within the organization in narrow and broader spectrum.

Fascinating. They indeed have terrorized the police. No wonder many of these policemen are wearing hoods to protect themselves from GD reprisals. Reminds me of police in Columbia where drug cartels routinely kill families of police who “get in their way”. Really sad that Greece doesn’t have the power to protect the police.
