Independent Greeks get EU elections candidates from Facebook

“Jobless” and “university degree”. That were the criteria Panos Kammenos, leader of conservative nationalist party Independent Greeks posted on Facebook in an attempt to get election candidates.

On April 7th 2014, Panos Kammenos posted on Facebook that he sought candidates especially unemployed with European studies who agree the the party principles. “The party will cover all their expenses.”

580 people sent their CVs. Five men and five women were picked up through a name drawing procedure, their names were announced today. the total number of candidates on Independent Greeks ballot paper is 42, among them also party officials.
