Deputy Prime Minister and leader of PASOK Evangelos Venizelos was admitted to hospital on Monday night suffering from stomach and chest pain. No worries, though! A number of medical tests conducted by doctors did not find any significant health problems and the deputy PM is expected to attend the sworn-in of the new cabinet that is about to start soon.
Venizelos has been given the all-clear by doctors to attend the swearing ceremony for the new Greek cabinet on Tuesday afternoon after being admitted to the hospital earlier the same day.
The PASOK leader was admitted to the Ippokrateio Hospital in Athens at 1.30 a.m. after suffering stomach pains. He underwent a number of tests but doctors did not find any significant health problems.
He is expected to be discharged well before the swearing in ceremony, which is due to begin at 3.30 p.m. (ekathimerini)
UPDATE 1: Venizelos did not attend the swear-in ceremony and according to state TV NERIT he has been released from hospital, he went home and he is expected to attend the first meeting of the new cabinet.
UPDATE 2: Venizelos exited the hospital and is now attending the first meeting of the new sworn-in cabinet.
