As I write this post there are still nine days to go until Santa and the reindeers make a tour around the world to bring presents and joy. Santa and his elves are currently in the Santa’s village in North Pole. They work hard to fulfill every child’s wish and be ready to deliver through chimneys on December 24th.
As every year, one can track Santa’s journey through the globe with the help of NORAD’s radar.
“The tradition began in 1955 after a Colorado Springs-based Sears Roebuck & Co. advertisement misprinted the telephone number for children to call Santa. Instead of reaching Santa, the phone number put kids through to the CONAD Commander-in-Chief’s operations “hotline.” The Director of Operations at the time, Colonel Harry Shoup, had his staff check the radar for indications of Santa making his way south from the North Pole. Children who called were given updates on his location, and a tradition was born.”
NORAD was established in 1958, when the governments of Canada and the United States created a bi-national air defense command for North America called the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).

YES! Santa delivers to some kids in Greece too on December 24th, while …surprise! surprise!… He brings presents on the New Year’s eve night as well 🙂

PS Personally I have heard that this year Santa will bring presents also to naughty kids and hear! hear! to pets as well, preferably the strays and the feral 🙂
