Every year the same tragedy at Easter time: fire crackers burst in the hands of the people, causing them serious injuries, amputate them and kill them. Two young men lost their lives on Good Friday, when threw the firecracker at electricity cables and were hit by high voltage.
The two men, 23 and 25 years old, were trying to connect the self-made firecracker with a battery through a 10-meter long cable, when the latter hit the electricity cables pouring thousands of voltage to the one man. His friend rushed to him and embraced him in order to move him away. The first man died immediately, the second on the way to the hospital.
The following day, one middle aged man, 62, lost his arm and another at the same age lost his hand when the firecrackers exploded before being thrown away. A third victim, 25, was blinded and lost both his hands when the self-made cracker burst in his hands, a guy standing next to him was slightly injured.

A deadly Easter custom in Messinia, southern Peloponnese. Constant police controls, seizures of firecrackers and information campaigns do not seem to hinder people from trying to prove themselves thus ignoring safety measures.
More than 6,000 fireworks and firecrackers were confiscated by police in just two prefectures in the days before Easter.

The neighbors around me are constantly letting these things off, there does not need to be a reason.
There needs to be a public place & under supervision where they can have their fun. the local councils & police need to get togethre & talk with the community.
Fireworks are illegal in Victoria & so far the authority turn a blind eye.
