The two boys were returning home from a music concert in Gefyra village near Thessaloniki on Saturday night. In his first testimony, the perpetrator had claimed that they had separated and each boy went home.
Next morning the victim’s parents declared their son as ‘missing’ to police. A couple of hours later, the body of the missing boy was discovered by the perpetrators’ father. the body was laying in an agricultural plot near the perpetrators’ home. The victim had two fatal stabs in the neck.
“While we were walking home, from the party, he started the insults gain. I could not bear them I got indignant. We scuffled. I came home and took a knife…” The perpetrator described described in full detail the crime. The boy seemed to not be aware of the situation and asked the police “Do not tell my parents what I’ve done, I tell them when I leave …”
He repeated his testimony in front of the prosecutor who rasied charges on “manslaughter with intention.”
Speaking to in.gr, the president of local community and relative of the victim argued that according tot he director of the high school where the two boys were enrolled, there were no signs of bullying between the two. The president claimed that “there were frequent quarrels between the two at school “caused by the perpetrator who had an irascible character this school year and possible psychological problems.”
The whole village is upset and neighbors claimed that the perpetrator was a “lonely boy” and that “his only friend was the victim and one of his brothers,” while others claimed that he was “aggressive” and that he used “to kill dogs and stab rabbits since the age of ten.”
The funeral of the victim is taking place today.
What is left behind is the drama of two families and a community apparently unable to deal with the problems one of its members might face.
