Moria: Local threatens refugees & migrants with rifle

A local resident of the village of Moria on Lesvos grabbed a rifle and threatened to shoot at refugees and migrants standing outside the hot spot that was burned down on Monday evening.

The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon, when the 84-year-old man appeared with his rifle in front of refugees and migrants hanging around outside the burned camp. He threatened to shoot at them.

In panic, the crowd started to flee in all directions.

Police was called in and detained the local before he made his threat true.

He was a permission to own the rifle.

A legal case against him was formed.

The racist incident occurred just two days after a group of right-extremists attacked four women.

The situation on the island of Lesvos in general and in Moria area in particular is very tense after right-extremists move to the island to incite locals against refugees and migrants.

  1. I don’t understand what is happening in this world and especially in Greece, a country that is renowned for its’ friendship and compassion towards desperate people.
Perhaps it is just me that doesn’t want to believe it.

It is wrong that the EU should expect that member states on the borders of the European Union should carry the responsibilty for defending the EU states well inside the boundaries and I’m certain that this pressure is stretching peoples’ will to breaking point.
What worries me most most is, self interested politicians seek to exploit hardship to
create hate between people of different nationalites merely to gain power.
Divide and rule is never in the best of the people in the long term.

Not sure if he’s racist as it looks like that he was always supporting refugees.
