Media in Albania claim the country’s authorities arrested a Greek businessman at the airport of Tirana. The 52-year-old constructor has been allegedly transporting ‘spying material’.
According to Albanian TV news, the Greek national was allegedly carrying ‘spy ware’ in his bag. the man is active in Albania as contractor.
The Albanian TV has been broadcasting a video that shows the alleged ‘spy ware’ – only that the broadcast show the spy ware that was allegedly found to be carried by an Israeli citizen who the Albanians arrested a couple of week ago.
The Greek Embassy in Tirana has been informed on the arrest of the Greek citizen, media report.
According to the Times of Israel, a 51-year-old Israeli citizen was arrested before leaving Tirana end of March. Police had sequestrated his electronic device and his cellphone. Local police was checking whether the electronic device was used for wiretapping.
Relations between Greece and Albania have been tensed recently due to the concerning rise of Albanian nationalism that is supported by Turkey.
