Too hot outside? Heat wave marching through the city? You want to go for a swim? But the thought of packing at home, unpack at the beach, pack at the beach and unpack at home is killing you? Why bother?
The solution might be closer than you think. You can go swimming together with your car.
Sorry, just kidding.
This is what happened to a German Tourist apparently waiting at the ferry boat port of Megara/Megaro Peyko.
Suddenly he found his Mercedes Benz A Class floating in the sea water.
He forgot to pull the break? No idea.

As the Mercedes owner jumps in the water, bystanders try to help by shouting advises. Initially, voices are heard saying “nobody is inside the car” and “a rope is needed.”
When the owner reaches the car and opens the door, everybody at the docks shouts in Greek “DON’T Do This!”
The people at the shore keep searching for rope, some shout at him to come and take the rope, others shout advises on how to tie the car “From the back!” – in Greek.
Meanwhile, another man has gone to aid the tourist. They manage to tie the car and pull it ashore.
Bystanders keep shouting “O-Kay? O-Kay?”, and urge him to close the car’s windows. For a change in English.
Every time the man sets to open the door of the Mercedes, the crowd shouts “NOOO!”
In the end, the car is very close to shore, in swallow waters. The tourist starts to empty the car, moves the luggage from the car to the docks.
Bystanders keep talking about what it should be done, to avoid another accident until the road aid has pulled the vehicle out of the water.
One proposes “he should put a big stone to hinder the car is swept away when big ship sail by.”
Another one say the car should not be brought closer to the docks to avoid “scratches on the polish.”
Why wondered how could this happen and comment the engine will start again when the car is completely dry.

The accident occurred on Sunday, 25 June 2017.
If the man was alone with his Mercedes he would be still swimming towards Salaminia by now together with a sinking car…

Well, if he is German, he can afford to buy another car. His government has stolen enough money from us already on his behalf (indirectly).
Apologies for the harsh tone, but deep down one of the causes of German prosperity is the continued looting of our own country for 8 years now and the 340 billion they owe us for WWII damages and money and gold theft.
