MP Nikos Michos left far-right Golden Dawn leaving the party with just 16 MPs in the Greek Parliament.
Michos announced his withdrawal with a statement. he blamed leader Nikos Michaloliakos and complained that the party had been hijacked by enemies of Greece’s nationalist movement.
Michos announced further that he would be standing as independent MP. He is the third MP to leave the party.
Τogether with the majority of Golden Danw parliamentary group, Michos is standing trial on on charges that Golden Dawn is run as a criminal organization. The trial is continuing.

“The court has already examined two cases in which N. Michos is involved as head of an attack battalion: the attack on the social site “Workshop” in Ilioupoli in July 2013 and the attack during a anti-fascist concentration in Paros that same year,” efsyn notes.
