Erdogan tells Turks: “Let’s be ready for a Third World War”

Establishment of US military bases in Syria is directed against Russia and can serve as a reason for the outbreak of World War III, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, Turkish media reported on March 15.  Erdogan said that Turkey should be ready for any development.

The head of state noted that presently there are about 20 US military bases in Syria.

“The question arises, why the US military bases in Syria are needed, and it seems that these bases are directed against Russia and Iran,” Erdogan said.

“Let’s be ready for the Third World War. Let’s be prepared for everything,” Erdogan said.

The audience at an event about health issues in Ankara froze.

First time, Turkey’s former prime minister Ahmet Davutoglu spoke about the possible beginning of the World War III back in 2015.

“It is necessary to exert maximum efforts to prevent the outbreak of World War III,” Davutoglu said then.

Meanwhile, an article in a Turkish paper with close ties to Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan exposed the regime’s desire to form an “Army of Islam” to attack and destroy the State of Israel.

The article calls on the 57 member nations of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) throughout the Muslim world to join forces against the Israeli “occupiers” who would then be vastly outnumbered and unable to defend their country.

Since the Turkish operation started in Afrin, warmonger Erdogan has been using a dangerous mix of nationalism and religious zealotry, firing threats at all his neighbors. The new crescendo is addressed to the USA, where tension   high.

New Secretary of State, former CIA chief, Mike Pompeo, had reportedly referred to Turkey as a “totalitarian Islamist dictatorship”.  Right after Tillerson was fired and Pompeo appointed on Wendesday, Turkish foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu urged him to respect Turkey. Media described Pompeo as “biased” against Turkey.

Due to the change, a planned visit of Cavusoglu to Washington has been postponed.
