Unknown perpetrators staged an attack with Molotof cocktail bombs against an apartment where refugees from Iraq have been living in Neapoli, Thessaloniki, northern Greece. At the time of the attack, two women and eight children aged 1 to 15 years, were sleeping inside the home, state broadcaster ERT TV reported.
The attack took place short after 1:30 Tuesday morning.
The Molotov cocktail bombs were hurled at the balcony and started a minor fire. Residents and neighbors extinguished it.
There have been no injuries or material damage.
It is not clear whether the attackers hurled one or several fire bombs.
The Department Against Racist Violence Crimes of the Greek police investigates the issue as it does not exclude racist motives for the attack.
