Greece’s National Meteorology Service issued a warning of weather deterioration with heavy rainfalls and powerful storms that will be locally accompanied by hail falls and strong winds.
According to the weather warning issue don Saturday, the weather deterioration will set in the evening hours of Sunday, May 12th 2019, initially in the North-West parts of the country.
Analytically the weather forecast and which regions will be affected:
Sunday, May 12
Late in the evening and during the night: islands in the Ionian Sea, Epirus and West Sterea.
Monday, May 13
Early morning hours: islands in the Ionian Sea, Epirus, West Sterea, initially the West and quickly also the rest of the Peloponnese, West and Central Macedonia.
By noon also Thessaly and the Sporades islands, East Sterea, Attica and Evia.
Tuesday, May 14
Mainly the north Islands in the Ionian Sea, Epirus, West and Central Macedonia, Thessaly and possibly also West Sterea.
The weather phenomena are forecast to temporarily weaken in the West as of Tuesday afternoon.
According to available data, the weather will remain unstable also on Wednesday and Thursday, May 15th and 16th, with severe weather phenomena locally in the West and in the North of the country.
Wind intensity up to 6 Beaufort with south winds.
Temperatures up to 27 degrees Celsius.
