Turkey’s War Scenarios against Greece: Missiles to strike Athens

Erdogan-loyal newspapers in Turkey have worked out war scenarios with what weapon they will attack Greece. Missiles installed at the country’s west coast with range of 280 km could strike not only the Greek islands but also capital Athens.

Is it an effort to show that Turkey has still the arsenal to attack its arch-enemy and neighbor Greece, now that it has been cornered on the purchase of the Russian S-400 and is about to cancel the deal following immense pressure by the USA?

In a long article, daily Yeni Safak explores Turkey’s operational capabilities if the country is ” attacked by Greece” or if its “interests in the eastern Mediterranean through the drilling for hydrocarbon conducted by Greece.”

The Turkish war scenario against Greece provides attacks with missiles “without having to send one Turkish soldier to the front.”

Citing statements by Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras that “the Greek army is ready to defend the country’s interests” and the “alliance” between Greece and Cyprus on drilling in the Eastern Mediterranean, the defense policy analyst of Yeni Safak exposes five options on how to attack Greece:

1. Use of artillery missiles and missiles with a maximum range of 120 km for attacks on Greek military targets – bridges and airports – on islands near the Turkish coast.

2. Use of missiles with a range of 100-110 km from combat aircraft.

3. Use of ground-to-ground J600T (“Thunderbold”) missiles with a range of 150 km to strike  islands in the central Aegean Sea.

4. Use of  SOM Cruise missiles with a range of more than 280 km. They will be launched from fighter jets flying in Turkey’s airspace.

5. Another option for Turkey, in order to avoid “body-to-body” fights and undesirable losses, , is to use BORA ballistic missiles with a range of 280 km, which can reach even Athens.

Worth noting that J600T, SOM Cruise and Bora missiles are made in Turkey.

“All these are actions that Turkey can take to ensure that no Turkish soldiers will shed blood,” Yeni Safak notes adding “but if you ask what else can be done, I would answer real war. But then, we have to talk about other scenarios.”

PS It looks pretty much like Turkey’s wet dreams on a warm June night, as the war scenarios assume that Greeks will just sit there watching the missiles falling on their heads. Not to mention the international reactions and pressure to economic vulnerable Turkey.

Nevertheless, no matter if real or unreal war, as Yens Safak presents it, there is always an individual missile-proof option that has proven to protect also from chemtrails: The Tin Foil Hat. Unfortunately, the hat does not protect from human stupidity.

  1. Thank you for this great blog, I read it daily. I love your comments in the end of your posts, and this one made my day (laughing out laud while everybody is sleeping their afternoon rest from the heat)!
My best wishes for you and your cat!

      • I remember you have a cat, so for this reason. I figured it was not you guys in the photo, but it was very funny!

  2. Why worry about this? The ECB and Brussels have been doing a great job of trying to destroy Greece during the last few years. Maybe Draghi, Merkel and Schäuble received money from the Turkish military. You know, the American strategy of weaken the target as much as possible and then attack.

  3. well, as mentioned on the turkish newspaper, If no other nations involved, it will take 5 minutes before greece is ass-raped by turkey. Greece knows this very well that is why they keep whining and crying to their european masters. Turkey is on the rise again and making a move against would be a suicide for greece.

    • Turkey is a paper tiger. NO ONE is afraid of Turks. Greece will simply sink your navy like they did in 1912. Perhaps this time Greece will succeed in it’s invasion of Asia Minor. Remember what happened to Italy in 1940? Turk’s are not even indigenous to the Mediterranean. Our old friends, the Egyptians, are now our allies too, Turkey has no friends. Russia are masters of Realpolitik and you are FOOLS to believe they will side with you over their brothers in Greece.

      • Ha Ha Ha. It is obvious that you have never been to Turkey. There are millions of Turks who. would be ready to. be transported the “geek” borders in order to sacrifice their lives. You little island peasant. 🙂

  4. Hate mongering based on a far from perfect understanding of what is in the article. The theories of attack are based on potential RETALIATION options if one of the Turkish drilling ships come under attack. The default reaction of Greeks to Turkey is being afraid hence hatred.

But all know the situation of the Greek economy, high unemployment. You cut peoples wages but still pay hundreds of million euros for defective (as per Greek navy) submarines. And Turkey is the enemy?

Greece is getting abused by western Europe daily but still its the Turks that are the enemy. Lol. Greek politicians are using Turkey to change the subject from the positions theyve put their people in. Its time u wake up. Stop falling for the old cliches and cooperate with Turkey, maybe youll grow up from underneath Euro-big-boys umbrella and stand on your own.
