A Greek police officer was on patrol on Thursday evening when he saw a street musician in Monastiraki. He obviously could not resist the challenge and decided “a creative short break” was worth it. He grabbed the microphone and started to sing “Stand by Me.”
The video posted by a bystander on Facebook and went viral in Greek internet.
Who is the talented police officer? A man who loves music. Marios Darviras,31, writes his own songs and has a channel on YouTtube.
The officer serves at the police station of Kallithea suburb in southern Athens and had reportedly joined the police force in order to help citizens and catch criminals. He never gave up his love for music.
He once participated in the talent show “The Voice”, but despite his “very good voice,” judges turned him down.
Darvinas’ spontaneous action has reportedly not bothered the Greek Police despite the fact that the officer was on duty and in uniform. The possibility for internal investigation is reportedly not in consideration.
