Four students injured after beaten by riot police during protest

Four student were injured, when riot police used their batons and fired tear gas at protesters outside a hotel where the university deans were holding a meeting. Two of the students have injuries on the head, the other two on the hands.

Police went with excessive violence against the protesting students and the batons fell on heads and bodies.

Police claims that the students attempted to break the police chain. On their parts, the students claim that they were attacked without a reason.


Due to the clashes, both directions of Poseidonos Avenue were closed for more than an hour.

The students demanded to speak with the deans, the latter invited a small delegation inside. The student rejected it unless police withdraws.

the students demand that the governments takes back the planned reforms as well as restoration of university asylum.

The students had arrived at the hotel in Kavouri, south Attica with chartered buses.
