According to local daily dimokratiki, Diane Davison has been living on Rhodes since 2004. She has been homeless for the last three years and has been suffering from health problems as well as loss of memory.
In an older interview to another local media, Davison said that she left her home country, the UK, and moved to Rhodes chasing her dream. She had several jobs, but she was fired in 2016 due to the Greek economic crisis.
For some time she managed to continue her life in normality, however, one day she found herself homeless. She moved to a cave together with her dogs. She was receiving a poverty aid of 160 euros and help from people she knew.
How sad, I spoke to this lady while on holiday in October 2019. She did tell me that she would be returning to Scotland, where she was from at sometime soon in either November or December.
She did come across a bit crazy lady, but not obvious dementia.
