Germany sends 1 helicopter, 20 policemen to boost Frontex in Greece

Germany is dispatching to Athens one helicopter and twenty police officers to boost the guarding of the Greek-Turkish border, the German Interior Ministry said on Wednesday. 

The police officers will join the EU’s Frontex border control force in Greece, where another sixty German police officers are already posted.

Two German officials are already at Greek islands to examine whether they can support the Greek authorities’ construction for winter accommodation and provision of water to refugees stranded at the Greek-Turkish border.

EU Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen said during her visit in Evros region on Tuesday, that the Froxnt in Greece will be strengthened with 1 open sea vessel, 6 coast guard vessels, 2 helicopters and 1 aircraft, 2 vehicles with thermo-cameras and 100 border guards who will be deployed at the land and sea borders in addition to 530 already in the country.

Two days ago, Greece submitted a requested to Frontex after Turkey opened its border to thousands of refugees and migrants.

    Nobody is able to see what is behind this scenario?
