Greece closes commercial shops on March 18. Exceptions: supermarkets, few others

Greece closes all commercial shops as of Wednesday, March 18, deputy government spokesperson Aristotelia Peloni announced on Monday. Exceptions are: supermarkets, pharmacies, gas stations and banks and other services will remain open.

She said that more clarifications will be given during the day.

According to state news agency amna, electronic shopping will continue as usual.

KTG is trying to find out whether also stores selling food and other items for animals will be closed, as well.

My local supplier said that shops with items for animals belong to the “food” category. However, she added that they did not know if they would be affected by the decision on Monday.
