Greece records 6. coronavirus death, the third in Kastoria

Greece recorded one more death, the six in the country, due to infection with the coronavirus on Thursday. The patient, a 70-year-old man, was hospitalized in the general hospital of Kastoria in northern Greece. The test results came out after the patient had passed away.

The man was suffering from other health issues as well. He was admitted to hospital with severe respiratory problems.

Also his wife is hospitalized with upper respiratory infection. The results of her test are due.

It is the sixth death in Greece since the outbreak of the virus and the third in Kastoria, where two villages have been placed in total lockdown.

The latest victim was not from these two villages in quarantine.

All patients who died due to coronavirus in Greece were men with the youngest being 54 and the oldest 90 years old. They all had other health issues.

According to official data released on Wednesday, the country has, so far 418, confirmed cases.

The number of those intubated seems to dramatically increase in the last hours, with another seven patients to have been added to the 13 of Wednesday, media report today.

Intubated patients are in hospitals in Athens, Patras and Thessaloniki.
