A baby boy was born to a 30-year-old mother infected with the coronavirus in Attikon designated hospital in Athens on Monday. It is the second baby in Greece whose mother has been infected.
Doctors said that both mother and infant were well and under observation.
The baby was born with the Caesarean section.
Sample from the newborn has been taken for a virus test. The infant has been placed in 14-day quarantine, media reported.
The test result was negative.
Last week, a 24-year-old woman infected with coronavirus gave birth to a baby, in the same hospital.
Conducted tests showed that the newborn was not infected with the coronavirus.
