Greece’s Justice Minister Konstantinos Tsiaras announced on Monday that administrative, civil and criminal courts are gradually returning to operation and that this process will conclude on June 15, 2020.
According to Justice Ministry roadmap:
May 6: The Council of State, the Court of Audit and regular administrative courts under the condition that lawyers submit electronically a statement that they do not wish to appear in person.
June 1: above mentioned courts will operate fully.
Urgent cases involving temporary judicial protection and the publication of decisions continue as normal.
Civil courts will be trying cases involving injunctions related to job or insurance protection.
June 15: Criminal courts, which so far have tried cases where temporary detentions have reached deadlines, will return to full operation.
Courts related to property settlements started their operation again last week after several weeks of operation suspension due to coronavirus lockdown.
