  1. This is just the start of much horrific things to come , maybe it’s time to put the people before profit and shut the gate to foreign travelers and tourism this year .just have a look around and see how bad Italy ,Spain ,and England have been with covid . You have not had it bad yet but when you do the hospitals will not cope and many Greeks will die unnecessary

  2. Calvin, the Greeks are not stupid and this is just what they have been doing, as well as restricting access to dangerous countries. But they also need the economy to survive the crisis, too many people are jobless in Greece today and you don’t want to worsen this.
So easy to say put people before money when you come from a richer country, and maybe you as I have no income problems, etc.

    • I think it is absolutely clear Greece is not stupid given the amazing job it has done controlling the virus and continuing to do, for example testing and quarantining air arrivals!! Of course you need the tourist industry and are doing everything you can to make it happen safely. I should have been there in May for 6 months… An extended holiday! Did the same last year. However I have put this year on hold sadly, regardless of what Greece or UK Government’s decide. Given how bad things are in the UK, and little information about safety protocols on planes. I don’t want to be the one that brings it to the island I visit regularly. I shall be back next year!!!

I could not find an information about ferries from Patras to Italy. On the website of Greekferries there is published

“Although ferry travel to all the Greek islands is free since 25th May, international ferry travel
between Italy – Greece as announced on 31st May, will restart on 15th June 2020”

In contrary Anek wrote me yesterday that it will be decided only on June 15th if the ferry to Venice
(which will leave on June 15th at 11pm) can start with passengers and cars or with trucks only. So I am a little bit puzzled now.
