Greece’s health authorities announced 10 new confirmed coronavirus cases on Sunday evening. Among them are 2 “imported” ones. It is the third consecutive day that no coronavirus-related death has been recorded. The number of total infections stands at 3,376 with 54.9% of the infected to be men. Death toll remains at 191
New Cases – Geographical distribution
The new confirmed cases have been detected in Xanthi (3), in Rodopi (2) as well as 1 in Athens and 1 in Kastoria.
1 case is without recorded residence.
2 of the cases are “imported”, they have been detected in arrivals from Albania by the aldn road.

According to the Health Ministry statement on Sunday, of the total 3,376 cases, 754 are related to travel abroad, 1,880 are related to an already known case. The rest are not related to travel or another known case or are still under investigation.
10 patients are intubated in hospitals Intensive Care Units. Their average age is 60, among them are 3 women. 90% of the patients have underlying health issues or are over 70 years old.
119 patients have been discharged from the ICUs since the beginning of the outbreak.
Number of coronavirus-related deaths remains at 191.
Among the deceased were 61 women (31.9%).
The average age of the deceased was 76, and 95.8% had underlying health issues and/or were over 70 years old.
Over 295,851 coronavirus tests have been conducted since beginning of the year, 5,413 (1.81%) were positive. The data include several tests conducted on a single patient, as well.

Experts are ringing the “alarm bell” as a surge of 132 cases has been recorded in the week June 20-27, 2020. One-third of the 132 new cases are “imported,” that is they were tested either at airports upon arrival or at Promachonas border-crossing with Bulgaria. Greece opened its gates to foreign tourists form several countries on June 15.
According to the 6. progress report of the Government Covid-19 Observatory, which covers the period 17-25 June, there is a deterioration in the average number of daily cases, which now amounts to 22 cases per day, from 13 in the previous report.
Ιn the week June 20-27, 132 new cases have been confirmed with 1/3 of them to be “imported,” that is they were tested either at airports upon arrival or at Promachonas border-crossing with Bulgaria.
The majority of daily cases usually come from the cluster of Xanthi, focusing on Echinos. Also, notable clusters are located in Rodopi, with a focus on the settlement of Agiasmos, and Thesprotia, with a focus on Paramythia.
It is worth noting that both Echinos and Agiasmos have been place in quarantine.
As a rule, new cases on a daily basis ranged in low double digits. In contrast, Attica, despite the intense population mobility of the previous weeks, continued to show low single-digit numbers
