Greece broke another negative record in daily infections with 284 new confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. According to health authorities on Friday, the number of total infections has reached 8,664 since the beginning of the outbreak in late February. 19 new cases have been detected among tourists.
Two more deaths raised the death toll to 242.
From August 1 to August 23, the number of registered infections is 4,300. A total of 36 people died during this period.
There are currently two children, a boy and a girl aged 0-17 in intubation. Another woman aged 18-39 has been intibated in the last 24 hours.

ON Sunday, the Civil Protection decided to impose restrictive measures on the island of Lesvos due to the epidemiological data.
According to the official daily bulletin on Sunday,, the number of intubated patients in ICUs is 31.Their average age is 67, among them are 8 women. 41.9%have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
143 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Officially the deaths are at 242. Of these, 84 were women. Their average age was 77 and 94.6% of the deceased had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.

Total tests since begin of outbreak is 848,380 with 9,366(1.1%) of them being positive. These data includes several tests carried out in one patient as well.

Of the 284 new coronavirus cases, 265 are domestic, of them 34 are linked to recent travel within the country and 30 with known clusters.
17 of them were detected at entry points and another 2 travellers sought laboratories after they developed symptoms.
