Slowly but gradually increasing are the coronavirus cases Greece records each and every day, while the average rate of deaths has reached 5.3 per day. Authorities announced on Thursday, 436 new cases and another 6 Covid-19 related deaths.
The total cases have reached 21,381 and death toll increased to 430.
19 of the new cases on Monday were detected among tourists.
Again, Attica and Athens top the list with 219 new cases.
Alarming is the number of intubated Covid-19 patients that reached 91, when the record at the peak of the pandemic in April was 93.
Weekly average of intubated patients is 85 when it was 90 in last April.

According to the official daily bulletin on Thursday, 3170(14.8) of the total coronavirus cases are related to travel abroad and 8727(40.8%) are related to already known infection case.
55.8% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs is 91 from 88 a day earlier. Their average age is 68, among them are 25 women. 90.1% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
236 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Six more deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 430. Of the deceased 160 were women. The average age of the deceased was 78 and 96.5% of the deceased had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.
Average rate of daily deaths per week: 5.3
Total tests since begin of outbreak are 1,379,036.
Tests in the last 24 hours: 11,805 with 3.45% of them positive. A good, normal number with less reason for concerns is when positive is below 2%.
Daily growth at +2.1%.

Of the 436 new coronavirus cases, 65 are related to known clusters and 17 were detected at the country’s entry points.
Majority of new cases are recorded in Attica
17 of the new cases were detected at entry points; another 2 travelers already in the country sought laboratories after they developed symptoms.

PS Now that the tourism season is over, I slowly got the feeling that the government has lost interest in taking the pandemic under real control. I want to be proven wrong.
