Greece’s health authorities announced on Tuesday evening 408 new coronavirus cases and another six deaths recorded in the past 24 hours. Death toll rose to 462 with 71 Covid-19 patients to have died alone in the first 13 days of October, 26 in the last three days. Two of the latest fatalities were in the age category 40-64. Average deaths per day (last 7 days) is 6. Last week it was 4.6.
The total cases have reached 23,060.
Again, Attica and Athens top the list with 170 new cases.
52 of the new cases were detected among tourists.
The number of active cases is 4,900, of them 2,600 are of “unknown source.”
The number of daily tests – 19,561 – confused the reporters and the public. During the weekly live briefing, professor for Epidemiology Hygiene and Health Ministry spokesman Gkikas Majiorkinis said that 13,000 tests were carried out in the lasst 24 hours, implying that the remaining 6,561 were carried out in the last few day (probably over the weekend) integrated in the daily bulletin of Tuesday.
He said that the average number of daily tests is 13,000-14,000.
Furthermore, Majiorkikis described the current situation of the pandemic in the country as “stabilized.”
COVID-19 MAP
Greek authorities launched an interactive COVID-19 MAP, an online tool where citizens can check the imposed restrictions and measures as well as the risk level of each region across the country.

According to the official daily bulletin on Tuesday, 3367 (14.6%) of the total coronavirus cases are related to travel abroad and 9364 (40.6%) are related to already known infection case.
55.7% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs is 89 from 91 a day earlier. Their average age is 69, among them are 25 women. 93.3% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
242 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Six more deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 462. Of the deceased 177 were women. The average age of the deceased was 79 and 96.5% of the deceased had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.
Total tests since begin of outbreak are 1,449,231.
Tests in the last 24 hours: 19,561 (!) with 2.09%of them positive. A good, normal number with less reason for concerns is when positive is below 2%.
Daily growth at +1.8%.

Of the 408 new coronavirus cases, 58 are related to known clusters and 45 were detected at the country’s entry points.
