Greece recorded again 438 new coronavirus cases on Monday even though with half of the tests were carried out than the previous 24 hours. In addition, health authorities announced 11 more deaths that raise death toll to 520.
The total cases have reached 25,802 and death toll is up to 509.
Of the new 438 cases on Sunday, 50 were detected among tourists.
Attica is again on top of the list with 175 new cases, followed by Thessaloniki.
Iτ is estimated that the number of the intubations in last 24 hours rose to 14, thus hitting a new record of daily intubations in the country.
The spike does not stop parts of the society to crowd either at parties or in churches where they receive the Holy Communion from a spoon shared with dozens others, even in areas placed in lockdown, like in the Regional unit of Kozani.

According to the official daily bulletin on Monday, 3560 (13.8%) of the total coronavirus cases are related to travel abroad and 10337 (40.1%) are related to already known infection case.
55.6% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs is 85 from 84 a day earlier. Their average age is 66, among them are 26 women. 94.1% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
258 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Eleven more deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 520. Of the deceased 197 were women. The average age of the deceased was 79 and 96.2% of the deceased had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.
Total tests since begin of outbreak are 1,549,392.
Tests in the last 24 hours: 7,236 with 6.05% of them positive. A good, normal number with less reason for concerns is when positive is below 2%.
Daily growth at +1.7%.

Of the 438 new coronavirus cases, 62 are related to known clusters and 42 were detected at the country’s entry points.
While the second biggest city in the country, Thessaloniki, seemed to had taken the pandemic under control, a rise of infections has been detected in the last couple of days.

42 of the new cases were detected at entry points; another 7 travelers already in the country sought laboratories after they developed symptoms.

STA TV reported Monday night that the mayor of Serres, Northern Greece, has urged citizens to be careful and refrain from unnecessary movements due to spike of cases. He said that they were 3-digit but did not reveal exact number or whether it was a cluster outbreak.
10 athletes were tested positive in Elassona, Central Greece, with the effect that another 150 athletes were placed in self-isolation, and some school- classes were shut down. All athletes, among them from basket-ball teams, were using for training the same enclosed sports facilities in the area.
Mayor of Thessaloniki Konstantinos Zervas said that one in two tested positive in the second biggest city of the country was aged 16-29, while the average age was 33.
