Greece’s health authorities announced on Saturday, 1194 new coronavirus cases and another 68 deaths in the past 24 hours. It is the first time since mid-November that the number of daily deaths is at such a low level. However, another 577 Codiv-19 patients are intubated in hospitals.
Death toll has reached 3,540 and the total cases stand at 123,842.
ICU wards still over 90% capacity in Thessaloniki. Public health officials have issued a new plea for caution over the Christmas season.

According to the official daily bulletin on Saturday, 5100(4.1%) of the total coronavirus cases are related to travel abroad and 35290 (28.5%) are related to already known infection case.
The remaining infections are without known source.
52.6% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs stands at 577 from 583 a day earlier. Their average age is 66, among them are 169 women. 76.9% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
The number of intubated Covid-19 patients hardly surpasses 600 due to the capacity in the country’s hospitals.
718 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Another 68 deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 3540. Of the deceased 1421 (40.1%) were women. The average age of the deceased was 79 and 95.9% of the deceased had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.

Tests in the last 24 hours: 15,683 with 7.61% οf them positive. A good, normal number with less reason for concerns is when positive is below 2%.
