Doctors and nurses with music skills sang the Christmas carols to patients in Covid-19 designated hospitals, in a small but heart-warming action to bring a little joy to those isolated in wards, away from their beloved ones.
In Papanikolaou hospital in Thessaloniki interns and nurses sang outside the wards’ windows and moved from clinic to clinic in the morning of Christmas Eve. Not only covid-patients enjoy the carols but also those in other clinics of the public hospital such as the neurology and psychiatry. Only those struggling for life in the ICUs did not have the chance to share a bit of the Christmas spirit…
Doctors and nurses of the 5th pulmonology clinic of Sotiria hospital in Athens, that operates exclusively as a covid-19 clinic, decided to bring a bit of Christmas to the patients who spend the festive days 2020 away from their loved ones.
With a guitar and a violin they also sang the Christmas carols to their patients to fill their hearts with a little joy.
“This Christmas is not the usual ones neither for the patients nor for us working in the health sectors, the staff of the 5th pulmonology clinic wrote on their video. “Isolated in their wards, away from their beloved ones, they seek the magic of Christmas. So we decided to be for them the Santa’s Elves,” they added and wished everybody to be back home healthy as soon as possible.
