Greece is now marked green in the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) maps for the coronavirus as the test positivity rate of the COVID-19 fell below 4 percent and the notification rate is lower than 25 cases per 100 000 people.
The maps are based on data reported by EU Member States to The European Surveillance System (TESSy) database by 23:59 every Tuesday.
The optimistic message on the downward trend of the epidemic was also noted during the last briefing of the representative of the of the Health Ministry’s scientists committee.
The scientists urged the people to continue to be very cautious and to strictly observe the protection measures as the “the epidemic may get worse in a very short time but its de-escalation is slow and difficult.”
Note that Greece is sending positivity rate of both PCR and Rapid tests, while other countries send normally only of PCR tests.

Why does ” Tesssy ” map show Scotland & England in Orange when Scotland’s Virus cases near no resemblance to England’s.!!
I know Greece could not disparage between the two Virus infection rates but I despair to find European Community likewise can’t distinguish between 2 Countries, Scotland & England.
Perhaps when Scotland rejoins the European Union it might help your Geography.!!!
orange means more than 4%. As both England & Scotland are above 4%, they are naturally the same colour.
I’m afraid that the above article is inaccurate. It is true that Greece is Green for positivity at under 4 % but that is all that particular map shows. If you look at other maps for case notification they are certainly not below 25 per 100,000. For example on this CDC page Greece overall is quoted as around 145 per 100,000 population. You can see the variation across Greece on the map below the table. Also on Greek government’s own map, e.g. at the bottom of this KTG web page: https://www.keeptalkinggreece.com/2020/12/23/greece-coronavirus-cases-deaths-updates-dec23/ very few individual prefectures are below 25 per 100,000. A large part of Greece is in the range 50 to 149.9 and the majority of northern Greece is above 150.
