Greece’s health authorities announced on Sunday evening 342 new coronavirus cases and 53 deaths in the past 24 hours. The number of Covid-19 patients intubated in hospitals across the country stands at 469.
Death toll has reached 4,606 and the total cases stand at 135,456.
Not that due to the Christmas holidays and the weekiend, the daily PCR and Rapid tests are significantly low, a little over 3000 than some 15,000 in normal weekdays.
As KTG did not posted the daily updated in the last three days, here they are:

On Sunday, Greece rolled out the COVId-19 vaccination program. The first to receive it were an ICU nurse, an 88-year-old care home resident and the political leadership of the country. More details and pictures here.

According to the official daily bulletin on Sunday, 5343(3.9%) of the total coronavirus cases are related to travel abroad and 40024 (29.5%) are related to already known infection case.
The remaining infections are without known source.
52.4% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs stands at 469 from 453 a day earlier. Their average age is 67, among them are 150 women. 80.2% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
857 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Another 53 deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 4606. Of the deceased 1868 (40.6%) were women. The average age of the deceased was 79 and 95.4% of the deceased had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.
Rolling weekly average cases at 630 from 947 last week.
Total tests since begin of the outbreak are 2756221 and 520061 Rapid Ag tests
Tests in the last 24 hours: 3,467.
Posititivy PCR+Rapid tests: 5.57%
Daily growth at +0.3%

Of the 342 new coronavirus cases, 22 were detected at the country’s entry points.

22 of the new cases were detected at entry points; another ? travelers already in the country sought laboratories after they developed symptoms.
