In the middle of a lockdown, an athlete form Crete broke a world record and entered the Guinness Books of World Records. Giorgos Kotsimpos broke the world record for the most hand release push-ups in one minute. He did 64 reps, 6 more than the past record of 58 reps.
Despite the health crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the pessimism that prevails in society, the Iron Body athlete, George Kotsimpos proved that when there is a strong will, everything happens.
On December 18, 2020, Mr. Kotsimpos managed to do 64 push ups per minute breaking the previous record which was 58 repetitions.
His record was videotaped and recorded at the Iron Body Project training center in Heraklion, Crete.
Kotsimpos’ success is of double significance, as he had suffered a serious injury to his right hand some months previous to the Guinness record.
However, he did not give up and with the proper training and preparation, he managed to overcome the problem, breaking the world record at the same time.
Worth noting that Kotsimpos’ record is the third one achieved by the athletes of the Iron Body project.
