Greece’s health authorities announced on Saturday, Friday, 605 new coronavirus cases and 24 more deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of Covid-19 patients intubated in hospitals across the country that stands at 292.
Death toll has reached 5,622 and the total cases stand at 151,646.
On Friday Greece extended lockdown restrictions for one more week, as the country prepares to reopen the secondary education on February 1.
At the same time, the Civil Aviation Authority extended travel restrictions for international flight passengers incl. non-EU citizens until February 8.
On the first Saturday since November 7, 2020, where the shops are open, mainly young Greeks crowded on the streets and outside stores but not inside as businessmen keep the protection measures.

According to the official daily bulletin on Saturday, 5830(3.9%) of the total coronavirus cases are related to travel abroad and 46753 (63.7%) are related to already known infection case.
The remaining infections are without known source.
52.1% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs stands at 292 from 288 a day earlier. Their average age is 68, among them are 206(70.5%) men. 84.9% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
1,066 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Another 24 deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 5622. Of the deceased 3315(59.0%) were men. The average age of the deceased was 79 and 95.4% of them had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.
