Greece: 1707 new coronavirus cases, 69 deaths, 681 patients in intubation

Greece’s health authorities announced on Monday, 1707 new coronavirus cases with much fewer tests due to Sunday. New negative records: positivity at 12.13percent, 69 deaths in past 24 hours and 681 Covid-19 patients in intubation.

Death toll has reached 7,531. Total confirmed infections since the begin of the pandemic a year ago: 238,830.

The health Ministry proceeded with the requisition of private doctors’ services in Attica as the pressure in hospitals remains high.

Public hospital doctors and personnel speak of dozens of Covid-patients with portable ventilators outside ICUs.

According to the official bulletin on Monday, based on the confirmed cases on the last 7 days, 79 are related to travel abroad and 3075 are related to already known cases.

The released data do not allow any more the clues about the rate of infections without known source of contamination.

51.5% of the infected are men.

The number of intubated coroinavirus patients in ICUs stands at 681 from 674 a day earlier. Their average age is 68, among them 66.4% are men. 80.9% have underlying health problems and/or are aged over 70.

New admissions of Covid-19 patients to hospitals are 394 (daily change -23.05%). Average number of hospital admissions in 7 days: 472.

Average age of infected is 44 ( age range 0.2-105).

1592 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.

Another 69 !!! deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 7,531. The average age of the deceased was 79 (age range  16-103). and 95.7% had underlying health problem and/or was over 70 years old.

Rolling weekly average confirmed coronavirus cases at 2373 from 2299  last week.

Rapid tests last 24 hours: 7,159

Positivity PCR+Rapid tests: 12.13%

Rt: 1.10 ( 1.06 previous week)

On Sunday, reordered were: 1,514 new coronavirus cases by just 18,059 PCR & Rapid tests due to the weekend. 41 deaths in 24 hours and 674 intubated patients.

Of the 1707 new coronavirus cases, 21 were detected at the country’s entry points.

21 of the new cases were detected at entry points, and another 1 travelers were already in the country.
