The Greek Coast Guard located and seized 46.71 kg of cocaine in a freighter anchored near Corinth and arrested 23 foreign nationals, all crew members, late on Monday.
The ship had set sail from a Brazilian port and was going to dock at a coastal facility in the area of Kalamaki, near the Corinth Canal.
The Marshall Islands-flagged ship ‘SKYROS’ had anchored in the sea near Isthmia, where an inspection of the vessel’s hull was carried out by a team of Coast Guard divers.
During the inspection they found a bag containing 46.71 kg of cocaine, in 38 plastic packages.

A thorough search of the ship was carried out with the assistance of sniffer dogs, without finding anything further.
The ship had left from the port Santarem, Brazil loaded with 22.500 metric tons of soya, bound for a facility at Isthmia.
