“Greece will continue to receive visitors from the USA until the end of the tourist season,” newly appointed Minister of Tourism Vassilis Kikilias said in a statement on Tuesday.
“This is a very important market, which creates added value in the country’s economy,” he added.
“Visitors and tourism professionals in the United States of America, and, of course, Greeks abroad, have shown and continue to show their love for Greece and their trust in Greek tourism,” Kikilias stressed.
The Tourism Minister’s statement comes a few days after the European Union removed the United States from its “safe list” of countries whose residents can travel to its 27 member states, as new york times reported.
The Greek Tourism Minister did not mention any restrictions to travelers from the USA like the quarantine imposed by Italy.
