Greece’s health authorities announced on Sunday 2,727 new coronavirus cases and 44 deaths in the past 24 hours. The number of Covid-patients in hospitals increased further 421 from 404 a day earlier.
Sdue to weekend, PCR and Rapid tests are several thousands fewer than on normal week days.
Epidemiologists are highly concerned about the increasing infections that hit an all time record with 4,696 cases on Saturday. They are considering to recommend new restrictions especially in regions with widespread infections and especially for unvacinnated citizens. More details and updated Covid-MAP here.

44 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, brought the total of pandemic victims to 15,938. Of these, 95.4% had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.
421 Covid-oatients are on ventilators in hospitals from 404 a day earlier.. Their median age is 65 years and 80% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or over.
Of the total, 357 (84.8%) are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated and 64 (15.2%) are fully vaccinated.
3,313 have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.
323 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: +16.61%). The average admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 273.
The median age of new infections is 39 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 78 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).
